Speaking

Using this page responsibly

A useful diagnostic question is narrow enough to answer with evidence. Instead of asking whether your English is good, choose one task and inspect where the process became uncertain. In Reading, that might be the difference between locating a sentence and proving an answer. In Listening, it might be a changed detail that you heard but did not update. Writing and Speaking need attention to the scope of the sample and the limits of the medium.

Keep a simple note of the prompt, your response and the reason for a proposed correction. Try the correction on a new task before deciding that it helped. Repeating the same item can show rehearsal rather than transfer. The band guide provides typical priorities to explore, but it does not assign a starting band. If a complete assessment is needed, arrange an appropriate teacher review rather than treating a drill, timer or typed answer as a substitute.
