Choose a route from the task you need to do next. If the format is unfamiliar, read the test-format page before selecting material. If you already know the task, open the skill hub and compare the band-priority cards with a difficulty you have actually observed. Use the back links to compare neighbouring priorities before selecting one exercise. The cards organise possible next steps; they are not a test that places you on a ladder.

Keep the first session small: one question type, one paragraph or one spoken answer is enough to inspect a particular learning move. Record the decision you made and why it changed after review, then try comparable unfamiliar material. Use a local timer when time awareness is the purpose, not as a substitute for feedback on quality. The curriculum explains the wider review cycle and the method page explains limits. Reading and Writing choices must preserve the distinction between Academic and General Training.
