How targeted IELTS practice works

Work on one difficulty at a time so you can tell what your practice changed.

Cross-skill bridges: teaching hypotheses

A strength helps only when both the strength and the weakness are evidenced; no cross-skill band gain is promised.

Paraphrase

Try using a supported Reading paraphrase to notice the same meaning in Listening.

Evidence attribution

Try identifying who said what before choosing a claim in speech or writing.

Signposting and structure

Try transferring a clear spoken route into a paragraph plan.

Inference discipline

Try separating what is stated from what you assume in both reading and discussion.

Self-monitoring

Try using an error log to notice a recurring decision on a fresh task.

Diagnose and understand

Start with an attempt. Find the exact point where your answer drifted, then decide whether the problem was understanding, timing or execution.

Diagnose

Solve and practise

Choose a small change you can repeat. For example, predict the missing word type before listening, then test that change on several items.

Practice

Verify

Use a fresh task to check whether the same error happens again. Keep a short record of what you will carry forward.

What we do not claim

Coaching drills do not predict a test score. Short Reading and teacher-read Listening activities do not produce bands or full-task scores. We never average different skills’ practice metrics into a four-skill band.

A claimed strength needs its own quoted or anchored evidence. A bridge between skills is a teaching hypothesis until both ends have evidence. Repeating a prompt is rehearsal; fresh transfer needs an unseen task of comparable scope.

Typed Speaking answers support language and content practice only. Pronunciation and fluency judgements need appropriate spoken evidence; audio needs consent. Recognition-system artefacts are not assumed to be learner errors. This site records nothing.

Academic visual analysis, General Training letters and Task 2 essays are separate tasks. Task 2-only work is not a complete Writing result. Numeric Writing estimates remain disabled; no rater calibration or learning-effect validation is claimed.

These are original formative materials, not a test-provider partnership, a result promise or a claim that a paid product is complete. The existing app operates separately. No learner data, submissions, accounts, payments or recordings are added here.
