Observable problem

Your choice matches an early word but conflicts with the speaker’s final decision. Keep the option and the exact correction together in your notes. A wrong answer alone does not tell you whether the problem was a pivot, a synonym, stance or assigning a statement to the wrong speaker.

Why it happens

Recognising a keyword feels decisive before the sentence is complete. Coaching slows the review step: identify the rejected idea, the replacement and the reason. Use pivot, synonym, tone or speaker as a sub-code only when a quoted cue supports it. If you cannot locate a cue, record evidence missing instead.

Original micro-drill

Teacher reads: “We considered the sports hall because it is central. However, the workshop will use the smaller library room; it has the equipment already.” Choose the final venue and speak the decoding proof. Explain why “central” does not settle the answer. Keep the rejected option visible while you make one spoken recast.

New-task transfer check

Open the Profiler’s new-script slot only after this attempt. A teacher selects an unseen script and reads it live. Record the script ID, role or sentence, answer and cue. Compare whether you followed the final proposition in both tasks; do not combine this small evidence log with unrelated skill metrics or produce a band.

Next action

Keep the original answer, the exact teacher-script cue and one error code together. Ask for a different original script before the next check. If a cue remains unclear, record insufficient evidence and ask a teacher to review it. Only use a proposed strength when you can cite a separate example of that strength; do not infer it from this error. Your next action is one focused rehearsal followed by an unseen task.
